Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste
Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

The history of Grand-Puy-Lacoste fascinates in more ways than one. It is part of a family saga that dates back to the sixteenth century.

The name of Grand-Puy comes from the old expression "puy" which means "mound, small height", and this soil is already mentioned in documents dating from the Middle Ages. Indeed the vineyard extends on one of the rumps of ground where were born the first crus of Médoc. Since the 16th century, the wine has been passed down from generation to generation and, through the interplay of family alliances, it has remained with the same descendants until 1920, before returning to a family destiny with the Borie family in 1978.
