The Ornellaia Estate is founded by Marchese Lodovico Antinori in 1981.

In 1999, world famous Californian wine producer Robert Mondavi takes a minority share in Ornellaia Appointment of Giovanni Geddes da Filicaja as CEO.

In 2013, the first vintage of Ornellaia Bianco is released.
