A domain, a history, a family !

It is in a complicated climate at the end of the nineteenth century that this story begins. The village of Ercé d'Ercé is nestled in the Pyrenean foothills. Its inhabitants had a specialty: the training of bears. Logically the young Artaud exercised the curious job of bear driver. Affected by his two plantigrades, he went around the world.

Until the day when homesickness resumed! He returned to France in 1912, saw the Tariquet, immediately fell in love with the place, counted and recounted his nest egg which was insufficient to acquire the house.

In 1972, future generations took over and developed the sales of Bas-Armagnacs produced at the château.

There is no beautiful story without the end, there is a note of hope ...
