Porto Burmester

Thus, in 1750, Henry Burmester started exporting port wine. When he died, Frederick Burmester, one of his 12 sons, became Treasurer of the Factory House in Porto. He is forced to abandon Portugal following the Napoleonic invasions. Johann Wilhelm Burmester, a distant relative living in Hamburg, is invited to take over the company. The following generations managed to elevate the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition.

The Porto Burmester matures in oak barrels in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia after being produced according to the punching method in traditional granite presses.
