Château Rauzan-Gassies, is a vineyard of 30 ha located in the towns of Margaux and Cantenac in Gironde. In AOC Margaux, it is ranked second Grand Cru in the official classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855.

The name of the estate comes from the noble house of the Gassies Gaillard de Tarbes was the lord in 1530 and secondly of Rauzan, councilor in the parliament of Bordeaux around 1650.

At that time the castle Rauzan-Gassies and the castle Rauzan-Ségla constituted one and the same property before their division for reasons succession at the end of the eighteenth century. The reputation of the Rauzan-Gassies wines was then through the sale of barrels aboard chartered boats to London.

Since 1946, Château Rauzan-Gassies belongs to the Quié family who manages the estate, headed by Jean-Michel Quié and his daughter Anne-Françoise Quié, oenologist. The Quié family also owns the Croizet-Bages castle and Bel-Orme castle.
