Les Crêtes was founded in 1989 in Aymavilles (Valle d'Aosta) by Costantino Charrère and is now run by his family, who own a historic 18th-century watermill and the former Via Moulins cellars, and have been involved in farming and food production for five generations. The vineyard extends over 25 hectares along the orographic axis of the Dora Baltea in the communes of Saint Pierre, Aymavilles, Gressan, Sarre, Aoste and Saint Christophe.

Total annual production is currently 250,000 bottles. The grape varieties grown are both indigenous (Petit Rouge, Fumin, Petite Arvine, Gros Rouge, Cornalin, Mayolet, Prëmetta) and international (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah). The company's "tension" is directed at the entire production chain, where operations are carried out with the utmost care and attention, in a continuous quest for quality.
