Baron Benjamin de Rothschild had the desire to create his own Sauvignon Blanc. He acquired 24 hectares of vineyards ideally located on the prestigious Rapaura Road, in the heart of the Marlborough region of New Zealand. The climate of this region allows the Sauvignon Blanc grapes to ripen perfectly, giving them their distinctive lemon and grapefruit aromas, accompanied by a lively acidity.

This benchmark wine is called Rimapere. The name Rimapere means "five arrows" in the Maori language and is a double tribute to the Rothschild family emblem (the five arrows refer to the five sons of the founder of the Mayer Amschel Rothschild dynasty who set out to conquer the world) and to traditional New Zealand culture.
