Description
The Donissan de Citran family ruled this estate in the 13th century until 1832.
In 1996, the Merlaut family, a major actor of the Bordeaux wine industry, took over Citran. They kept on increasing the quality of growth and developed its renown while respecting its history. Highly lauded, the Château is designated a historical monument heritage in 2012.
Tasting
Appearance: Clear ruby color with purplish highlights and beautiful intensity.
Aroma: Greedy fresh fruit, blackcurrant. Subsequently, slightly woody aromas, beautiful roasting notes and toasty notes.
Palate: The attack is frank, the material is present, enveloping, the cabernets are elegant. They bring a nice freshness, the finish is persistent, dense with a nice acidity. Merlots recall a certain sweetness.
Food pairing: game meat in sauce, grilled beef.
Service: 10 to 15 years aging potential.
