Description
On 1 August 1862, the two Silesian brothers Auguste-Christophe and Gustave Meukow founded the cognac company Meukow & Co, after being sent to France by the Russian Tsar Alexander II to supply the Russian Tsar's household with high-quality cognac. By 1900, they owned some of the largest cellars in France and exported their cognac to almost every country in the world. In 1979, the company was acquired by CDG, making it the fifth largest cognac distributor in the world. By using Ugni Blanc grapes, which are harvested from the first week of October, and storing them in their cellars in Charente, the high quality of their cognacs is assured. The copper stills and the high-quality wood of the white oak casks are decisive in Meukow cognacs - but there is also the long experience of the winemaker and the design of the bottles, decorated with a panther, which contain a cognac that has won several awards.
