Description
Domaine de Cambes is a great wine in the Bordeaux appellation.
This wine estate is in fact made up of part of the terroir of the famous Château Roc de Cambes in Côtes de Bourg. It is therefore one of the two estates he owns, along with Château Tertre Roteboeuf in AOC Saint-Emilion and Domaine de l'Aurage.
He is devoted to quality. This is why the work done in the vineyard is of the highest quality, as well as in the cellar (when they bring in the grapes...) or during vinification; his objective is to obtain the best vintages each year.
The 24 months of maturation in oak barrels also gives the great wine its slight mellowing. For the sake of precision and quality, the grapes are harvested by hand, which is unusual for a Côtes de Bourg appellation wine.
The vineyard comprises three south-facing slopes which follow one another. It is thus entirely composed of slopes and thus forms an amphitheatre of hillsides. A few hundred metres from the magnificent town of Bourg, Château Roc de Cambes also includes a splendid cellar dating from the 14th century.
The vineyards are planted with different grape varieties: Cabernet-Sauvignon (15%), Malbec (5%), Merlot (80%). This produces high quality wines when blended.
