Description
Understanding a vineyard takes time, patience and experience. Qualities such as nuance, potential and character - these are not things easily or immediately learned about an estate, and Véronique Drouhin tends to be extra careful about these decisions.
In contrast to their barrel cuvées, this is an 'estate selection', a chance to highlight individual vineyard blocks that have something to say in a given vintage.
the 2014 Edition Limitée Pinot Noir demonstrates winemaker Véronique Drouhin's full command of the vineyard, drawing from two blocks that she felt were destined for each other.
Tasting
Beautiful and ruby-red in color their Edition Limitée Pinot Noir expresses aromatic depth with notes of violet, cola, red fruit, smoke, and delicate flowers.
The texture is elegant, with excellent weight, finely integrated tannins and serious gras. There is a hint of spice on the palate, with beautiful subtlety and a long, persistent finish. Juicy and plush now, this is a delicious example of what they look for in Dundee Hills Estate.
