Description
THE HISTORY OF THE DOMAINE begins at the end of the 19th century.
In 1976 the vineyard was enlarged to 19 hectares. In the same year, Pierre Hutin took over the estate from his father, joining forces with his brother Jean, who in turn rented the vineyards from his uncle Jules Hutin.
A few years later, a new cellar was built while Pierre and Jean undertook an ambitious remodeling of the vineyard with the introduction of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling/Sylvaner (later abandoned), and Sauvignon, which they were the first to adopt in French-speaking Switzerland.
To diversify the red grape varieties they chose Gamaret, a creation of the Federal Research Station of Changins, and then Garanoir, both excellent Swiss crosses, which proved to be perfectly adapted to the terroir. Then the opportunity offered by global warming encouraged them to successfully welcome Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and finally Syrah.
