Belle Epoque 2014

Perrier-Jouët

75cl
Temporarily victim of its own success

Grape Variety

  • Pinot Noir

  • Chardonnay

  • Pinot Meunier

Description

Hervé Deschamps has blended this cuvée to achieve the ideal balance between the exceptional character of the year and the consistency of the House style.

The blend features the freshness, minerality and floral notes of the Chardonnay (50%) from the Grands Crus of Cramant, Avize and Chouilly, to which are added the generosity, suppleness and fresh fruit flavours of the Pinot Noir from the terroirs of Mailly, Verzy and Aÿ (45%). Finally, the Pinot Meunier from the terroir of Dizy (5%) brings its notes of ripe fruit, its roundness and its balance.

Tasting

Eye : Radiantly clear gold with fresh, delicate green highlights.

Nose : Spring-like with a bouquet of light white flowers: hawthorn, plum blossom... The freshness of the white-fleshed fruit aromas is then delicately enveloped by notes of candied citrus.

Palate : A wine full of vitality with a tonic and frank attack, an enveloping presence in the mouth marked by a touch of freshness.

Cuvée Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque is a perfect aperitif. At the table, its freshness and floral fragrances are a perfect match for the iodine accents of shellfish and fish, as well as the fondant of white meats.
