Whisky The Epicurean
Whisky
70cl- Unit
Description
According to some established Scotch drinkers, it's a pretty good idea to avoid Lowland whiskies. Indeed, the keyword "Lowland" is immediately accompanied by images of unattractive industrial production areas and characterless column stills. Lowland whisky is often equated with grain whisky, as most of the grain distilleries are located in this easily accessible area. Here it is a Blended Malt, which means that the mash is 100% barley malt and is distilled in Pot Stills. With this regional malt, Douglas Laing wants to destroy once and for all the prejudices about cheap Lowland whisky. The blend remains a mystery, as the composition is not revealed. Currently, eight malt distilleries are active in the Lowlands: three of them have been in operation since the early 1800's, while the other five were reopened in the new millennium, after a long period of inactivity. The conjecture about the origin of malt whiskies therefore remains exciting.
