Description
Château Cantemerle is located in the southern part of the Médoc, near the villages of Macau and Ludon. It is a magnificent chateau surrounded by a wooded park which has been marked by history and the various owners.
Today, it boasts beautiful neoclassical architecture, in perfect harmony with the estate as a whole.
Château Cantemerle is a Grand Cru Classé of 1855 which extends over 91 hectares. Its soil is poor, which forces the vines to grow deep into the soil. This results in balanced, delicate and complex wines.
Tasting
"Deep garnet-purple in colour, the 2017 Cantemerle displays plenty of oak, herbs and freshly ploughed soil over a core of blackcurrant and baked plums, as well as hints of pencil lead and grilled meat. The palate is medium-bodied, firm and grainy with lovely freshness and length." (Wine Advocate 2020)
