Château Ausone, Premier Grand Cru Classé A of Saint-Emilion, is one of the oldest properties in the Bordeaux vineyards. Its Second Wine, Chapelle d'Ausone, is also renowned.
According to history, the vineyard occupies the site of the magnificent villa belonging to the poet and proconsul Ausone in Lucaniac (Saint-Emilion), hence its name. For several centuries, this vineyard has remained in the same family, which has allowed the preservation of very old vines. Today, the heirs of Madame Cécile Vauthier continue her work with passion, year after year.
