Description
"Great Cognacs, in the purest expression of their terroir of origin".
1759 is the date when James Delamain, originally from Ireland, joined forces with his father-in-law Jean-Isaac Ranson, owner of an old export house whose origins date back to the very first days of Cognac, to found the House of James Delamain.
The House is still run today by James Delamain's descendants.
The House of James Delamain is still very much a craftsman's business, and all the operations involved in maturing the eaux-de-vie and bottling them are carried out by hand in accordance with the rules of the trade, with the highest standards of quality.
Delamain produces Cognacs of various ages, all exclusively Grande Champagne from the premier cru of the Cognac region.
Tasting
It has a nose of vanilla and fruit notes such as sour cherry, muscadet, fig and quince paste, enhanced by spice and leather. On the palate, this cognac combines natural sweetness and rancio. Its roundness is crowned by a hint of raisin and ground pear.
