Description
The combination of the limestone soils, the microclimate and the summer heat create ideal conditions for the cultivation of this emblematic grape variety of the Commune of Salquenen.
The Escher family, having acquired plots in this region, notably the Crête à Plan estate and other plots at the foot of the Salquenen chapel, benefits from a privileged terroir to produce grapes of exceptional quality.
This chapel is featured on labels, a visual and symbolic link to the rich local cultural heritage.
With over a century of experience in the wine trade, the Escher family has undeniable expertise in the production of quality wines.
Tasting
To the eye : a deep ruby red colour with bright purple highlights.
On the Nose: The bouquet is complex and seductive, combining aromas of ripe red fruit such as cherry and raspberry, with delicate notes of vanilla, wood and spice from barrel ageing. Slightly smoky undertones also emerge.
Palate: Elegant and silky on the palate. The red fruits unfold with intensity, bringing a sensation of freshness and vivacity. The tannins are fine and well integrated. The woody notes are subtle. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a slight spicy impression.
A refined wine that will accompany with finesse dishes such as roast poultry, mushroom-based dishes or mature cheeses.
