Description
Jean-Pierre Pellegrin is in a class of his own; his wines are unique and rare. In the wine scene, he is affectionately known as "L'Horloger" because of the precise way he goes about his business, just like a Swiss watchmaker.
The Genevan winemaker first studied archaeology. This knowledge came in very handy when, at the age of 28, he decided to take over the six hundred year old family wine estate: Domaine Grand'Cour in Peissy-Satigny.
He restored it himself with old stone and built a barrel cellar and tasting room in old stone. On the gentle slopes near the French border, Jean-Pierre Pellegrin cherishes and cultivates 25 grape varieties with great attention to detail.
Jean-Pierre Pellegrin is an exceptional talent who raises the standard of each plant to the highest possible level and has taken his estate to the top. The GaultMillau has singled him out as an icon of the Swiss wine scene.
