Description
Donnafugata was established in Sicily by a family that, thanks to its passion, has been able to innovate the style and perception of Sicilian wine throughout the world.
Giacomo Rallo, the fourth generation of a family with over 170 years of experience in quality wine, founded Donnafugata in 1983 together with his wife Gabriella, a pioneer of viticulture in Sicily. Today, their children José and Antonio lead the company and a team of people focused on excellence.
Floramundi is a fantastic figure of a woman who is giving the gift of wonderful interlacements of flowers and fruits with velvety tones. It is a dialogue between two souls, the elegant and sophisticated one of Floral Liberty, of which Vittoria is rich in testimonies, and the fascinating and suggestive one of the tradition of the Pupi Siciliani (Sicilian Puppets). A dialogue between Nero d'Avola and Frappato to listen to with pleasure. A refined artistic label for a prestigious denomination: Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG.
Tasting
Eye: This wine is a brilliant ruby red with garnet highlights. The colour is bright and brilliant, reflecting the youth of the vintage.
Nose: The nose is intensely aromatic and seductive. It opens with aromas of ripe red fruit such as cherry, raspberry and strawberry, typical of Cerasuolo di Vittoria wines. There are also floral notes of violet and rose, as well as spicy touches of black pepper and liquorice, adding a beautiful complexity.
Palate: Floramundi is fresh and enveloping. The tannins are fine and well integrated, providing a silky texture. Red fruit flavours, notably cherry and strawberry, dominate, accompanied by spicy notes and a hint of minerality. The lively, well-balanced acidity gives the wine great freshness and a long finish.
Food and wine pairing: This Cerasuolo di Vittoria goes perfectly with a variety of Mediterranean dishes. It goes well with pasta in tomato sauce, white meats, cold meats, grilled vegetable dishes and soft cheeses. It can also accompany traditional Sicilian dishes such as caponata.
