Insoglio del Cinghiale makes for a very good, well-balanced wine, true to the region, at an accessible price. It is made from 32% Syrah and the remaining part is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

Insoglio del Cinghiale is a very fleshy wine, from the distinctive Upper Maremma terroir. The peppery characteristics coming from the Syrah makes it the ideal accompaniment to game dishes, such as the local wild boar cinghiale (after which it is named), roast pheasant or rich game stews. Slightly chilled, it is equally good in summer with picnics and barbecues.

A medium intense nose of dark fruits, blackberries, some floral notes and a hint of spicy oak in the background. A light to medium rich body with a fine structure and balance.

It is a very pleasant and drinkable wine at release in September 2018 but will gain in balance and complexity with a further few months in bottle.
