Tasting
The House's iconic cuvée, created for the first time in 1876 for the Tsar of Russia, Cristal is made from 45 exceptional "lieux-dits", spread over 7 Grands Crus in the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs. 2015 Cristal has its origins in 3 of the House's emblematic vineyards, namely 1/3 of the "Rivière", 1/3 of the "Montagne" and 1/3 of the "Côte". The crus used to make this exceptional champagne are Verzenay, Verzy, Beaumont-sur-Vesle, Ay, Avize, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant.
Eyes: A brilliant golden yellow colour. The effervescence is lively and of great finesse.
Nose: The nose reveals a particularly rich aromatic expression. Concentrated fragrances of yellow fruit (white peach, mirabelle plum), hazelnuts and grilled almonds blend harmoniously. With aeration, the bouquet reveals an ideal alliance between the characteristic almond, harvest and sweet pollen notes of the Chardonnay and the luscious fruitiness (juicy red fruit) of the Pinot Noir.
Mouth: Lively and concentrated, the palate opens with a silky touch revealing aromas of candied citrus fruit and iodised spices. The palate stretches out its freshness and precision to a finish whose subtle woody and saline notes create a delicious alliance between finesse and concentration.
