Description
Joseph Drouhin's Maranges Premier Cru comes from the extreme south of the Côte de Beaune, a region where the Domaine Drouhin, founded in 1880, has been able to reveal the full potential of this appellation. The estate is renowned for its commitment to biodynamic viticulture and its respect for the terroir, resulting in elegant, authentic wines. Maranges Premier Cru is a wine made from Pinot Noir grapes grown on selected plots with chalky soils and ideal exposure for the grapes.
This wine embodies the perfect balance between fruit and structure, with a beautiful complexity brought about by ageing in oak barrels. It is distinguished by its refined character, while remaining accessible in its youth. Representative of both the Maranges terroir and the excellence of Domaine Drouhin, this wine evolves remarkably well in bottle.
Tasting
‘An elegant wine with character! A bright, pure red colour. The nose is intense, wild and fruity, with notes of damp undergrowth. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-structured. A little rough in its youth, it becomes rounder as it matures and becomes greedy. The finish is very aromatic."
