Marlborough occupies 62% of New Zealand's total vineyard area, in the North East of the South Island. The region is fertile and enjoys a temperate climate, making it the heart of New Zealand's wine production.
The Wairau River flows into the eastern plains, at the centre of which is Blenheim, the most important town in the region.
The Rimapere vineyard covers 24 hectares of vines ideally situated on the prestigious Rapaura site on alluvial soil, mainly pebbles and gravel.
The Sauvignon Blanc covers 20 hectares and 4 hectares are planted with Pinot Noir.
Tasting
To the eye : Deep ruby red colour. Intense cherry colour with purple highlights.
Nose : This wine has a beautiful aromatic complexity with aromas of black cherry, spices and a slight note of dried thorns
Palate : The body with red fruit aromas is seductive and supported by an elegant woodiness that offers a pleasant structure and a good persistence in the mouth.
This New Zealand Pinot Noir is a perfect match for poultry with figs and crisp vegetables. This feminine and flattering wine with its easygoing notes of red fruits and undergrowth will perfectly accompany the delicacy of poultry. It should be served slightly chilled for maximum pleasure.
