Description

Tenuta San Guido, located in Bolgheri in Tuscany, is the birthplace of Sassicaia, a wine that has revolutionised the Italian wine landscape. In the 1940s, Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta planted Bordeaux grape varieties on stony soils, inspired by the great French crus. This bold gamble gave birth to Sassicaia, whose name means ‘stony place’, in reference to its unique terroir. Since it was first marketed in 1968, Sassicaia has become a global icon, renowned for its elegance and exceptional ageing capacity.

Tasting

Eye: intense ruby red, concentrated and intense.

Nose: complex, red fruit aromas and very elegant.

Palate: powerful, concentrated, with round, well-balanced tannins. Sassicaia is rich and dense, yet harmonious, elegant and extraordinarily long-lasting.
