Description
Pai Horácio 1945, a special edition that pays tribute to the life, strength, and character of Horácio Lourenço. It expresses the purity of a father-son relationship, family values, friendship, and commitment to the land, reflecting the authenticity of a terroir, the power, and elegance of a region where each parcel has been meticulously selected. Pai Horácio 1945 carries a profound emotional charge, celebrating the legacy of dedication and commitment left by Horácio Lourenço, which Jorge Lourenço seeks to perpetuate with the same love for the land.
A blend from a selection of parcels planted by Horácio Lourenço, based on the study of terroirs over recent decades and their interpretation by Jorge Lourenço.
Every detail has been carefully designed to reinforce its unique identity. The bottle consists of multiple layers that reveal themselves through exploration. The central element is a leather strap wrapped around the bottle, symbolizing the bond between father and son, family, and friendship. This gesture embodies affection, unity, and the shared memories with Pai Horácio, who, even after his departure, left behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Thus, "Pai Horácio 1945" is a design piece rich in emotion, strengthening the connection between those who produce it, those who receive it, and those who appreciate it.
VINIFICATION: Grapes from different selected grape varieties, grown in parcels planted by Horácio Lourenço at altitudes ranging from 130 to 700 meters, on schist and/or granite soils with numerous micro-terroirs distinguished by their unique locations.
For this wine, Jorge Lourenço pushed even further in his pursuit of the best conditions. With his expertise, he even went as far as subdividing plots to extract the best from each micro-terroir, bringing out the finest expression of each grape variety. The technology used is minimalistic, utilizing granite lagares for foot-treading. After fermentation, with about a week of maceration, the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks, where it naturally clarified. Following malolactic fermentation, it was transferred to French oak barrels, where it aged for approximately eighteen months.
