Description

The origins of this traditional vodka lie in the Białowieża Forest in Poland, whose area is now known as the last primeval forest in Europe. It is home to the last wild European bison, which give the vodka its name. In addition to these rare creatures, the forest is home to bison grass, which is crucial to the production and taste of Zubrowka and has been used in the production of vodka for over 500 years. The grass is collected by hand by around 21 local families and dried in a complex process at 25 degrees in small wooden houses. In this way, it not only retains its natural aroma, but also its vibrant colour. An extract is then extracted from the bison grass, which matures for 2 months in oak barrels and is later added to the distilled vodka. Rye forms the base of the vodka, which is distilled six times at the traditional Bialystok Distillery and reduced with naturally demineralized water from a local spring. After adding the bison grass extract to the vodka, each filled bottle is decorated with a stalk of bison grass, giving the vodka its trademark.

Tasting

Eye: Yellow, like the colour of straw.

Nose: With an olfactory composition composed of spicy and herbaceous notes, combined with facets of cinnamon, pepper and almonds and enveloped in the sweetness of vanilla. An intense aroma.

Mouth: The palate is enchanted by a symphony of rye, herbs and almonds, combined with spicy tones of pepper and cinnamon and a touch of vanilla.

The finish is equally long and intense. Zubrowka Bison Gras vodka is a pure, icy delight, but it's also a taste experience on the rocks.
