Whisky Laphroaig Lore

The traditional Laphroaig distillery is located on the island of Islay, set in a tiny bay and surrounded by meadows and fields. With distant views of Northern Ireland, the islanders have been burning the prestigious whisky here since 1815, the taste of which has never been copied despite numerous attempts. Founded in 1815 by Donald and Alexander Johnston, the distillery has changed hands many times over the last 200 years. Laphroaig is the only distillery to have personally received a certificate from Prince Charles in 1995 for its whisky. Its Single Malt Scotch whiskies are made from malted barley, distilled in copper stills and diluted with clear spring water. Laphroaig Lore Whisky is a Single Malt with no indication of age, aged in a variety of casks, including sherry, bourbon, Triplewood and Pedro Jiménez casks, as well as Quarter Casks, which are much smaller and impregnate the whisky with a more intense flavour thanks to a 30% larger surface area. Director John Campell then moves on to the blending of Lore.

Nose: Aromas of sea salt, dark chocolate and light notes of ash and citrus.

Palate: Peaty and spicy. Short, dry finish.
