Description
Pomerol is a French red wine with an appellation d'origine contrôlée produced in the commune of Pomerol and part of those of Libourne and Lalande-de-Pomerol. It is an appellation of the Libournais vineyards, one of the subdivisions of the Bordeaux vineyards.
The Bordeaux region is located on the Atlantic coast on the left and right banks of the Gironde. It represents the largest AOC vineyard in France. Divided into five sub-regions, namely Médoc, Graves, Sauternais, Entre-deux-Mers, Blaye et Bourg and Libournais, the region enjoys a temperate oceanic climate.
Tasting
Eye : A lovely garnet colour with ruby highlights.
Nose : On the nose, this wine reveals a complex range of ripe red fruit aromas, minty freshness and a spicy note. As the wine opens, an elegant and delicate touch of violet completes the picture.
Mouth : A hedonistic and harmonious attack develops with a round and velvety tannic structure. A beautiful freshness in the finish offers a good length of delicious flavours. High quality, carefully managed maturation has allowed a touch of toast without masking the natural complexity of the wine. This wine can be enjoyed in its youth but also after a few years of bottle age.
