Description
Located in Sainte Croix du Mont, Château Grand Dousprat is, like Château Crabitan-Bellevue, owned by the Solane family. The Solane family, who used to work in the cooperage industry, arrived in the historic town of Sainte Croix in 1870 and, over the generations, has extended its vineyards.
Positioned alongside the plots of land of the other family property, the vines of Château Grand Dousprat benefit from an elevated situation, which offers the noble rot so appreciated in the elaboration of sweet white wines.
The vines face the prestigious Sauternes appellation from the Entre-Deux-Mers wine region. Situated between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, this location offers a very favourable oceanic microclimate for the grapes which will produce smooth, highly aromatic wines.
The ancestral know-how of the Solane family, present on these lands for nearly 150 years, offers the current generation a real expertise of the soils of each parcel. Today, with the help of the most modern winemaking tools, the family makes a regular wine each vintage in the spirit inspired by their forefathers, with a smooth finish of citrus and exotic fruits.
