Description
Jean-Pierre Pellegrin, a discreet winemaker from Geneva, inherited the family estate in 1989. In 1994, he modernized the 600-year-old farmhouse and created one of the finest wineries in the canton. On 30 hectares, including 15 recently acquired, he cultivates some twenty grape varieties, favoring non-certified organic viticulture and natural winemaking. The Grand'Cour red, in particular the "P", is a benchmark, representing the winery at the Mémoire des Vins Suisses. A symbol of excellence for Bordeaux grape varieties in the canton of Geneva.
Tasting
Eye: Deep ruby red.
Nose: Spicy attack followed by fruity aromas of black cherries, blackberries and plums combined with cloves, pepper, coffee, tobacco and hints of liquorice.
Palate: soft, finely grained tannins, with a superb extracted sweetness reminiscent of wild berries, mountain cherries and liquorice.
The drying of the grapes on the vines gives this wine an aroma and suppleness that make it very pleasant to drink and harmonious.
Finish: medium-bodied, with a spicy, mineral finish.
Contains sulfites
