Description
The reflection of the sun on the Douro River, casting different tones across the vineyards, was the inspiration behind the name Tons de Duorum. This wine expresses the full character of the Douro's exceptional terroir — the result of the perfect harmony between nature and human craftsmanship.
Vinification
Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are carefully selected, destemmed, and gently crushed. This is followed by a cold pre-fermentation maceration (10 to 12°C) in stainless steel tanks equipped with an automated punch-down system, lasting about three days. After that, the crushed grapes are transferred into stainless steel fermentation tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of approximately 25°C.
The wines of the João Portugal Ramos Group are distributed worldwide and are market leaders in the sale of Portuguese wines in several countries.
Today, the winemaker is joined by two of his five children — João Maria in the oenology department and Filipa in marketing — continuing the legacy of the family business.
