Real Companhia Velha is the oldest wine company in Portugal, having celebrated 265 years of existence and uninterrupted activity.

Since its foundation on 10 September 1756 by Royal Charter of D. José I, King of Portugal, the importance of this company has been reflected in the valuable services it has rendered to the community, the most important being the delimitation of the Douro region - the oldest wine appellation in the world.

Since 1960, the Real Companhia Velha has been run by the Silva Reis family, who have dedicated their efforts to the production of Port and Douro wines, focusing on the study and development of the Douro terroir.

The company has a total vineyard area of approximately 557 ha.

Eye : Golden colour.

Nose : Very fresh and aromatic, mature and smooth.

Mouth : Fruity and well-balanced, it is generous and harmonious in the mouth.

Food and wine pairing : Foie gras, fine pastries.
