Description
The distillery Glenrothes had complicated beginnings when it was launched in 1879. James Stuart, the founder of the distillery was left without investors to build the mill that had to supply water but the local Reverend got funds so that The town had work. Since then, the identity halls of James Stuart have been applied to Speyside of Glenrothes: wood and time. With these two essential elements he wanted to get a whiskey lighter and fruity than his region companions. And he got it. Glenrothes Manse Reserve is one of the most refined expressions of the distillery. An excellent assembly is performed between a whiskey that passes through oak barrels that have contained Bourbon and then go through others who have content Jerez wines.
Tasting
This is a reasonably sweet 43% Speyside malt, with notes of vanilla and custard that give way to a refreshing medium length finish.
