Description
Founded in 1763, Glenturret is Scotland's oldest working distillery. Located in Crieff in the Highlands, it has preserved traditional production methods while incorporating modern innovations. Since its acquisition by Art and Terroir in 2019, Glenturret has invested £4.5 million to renovate its facilities, including the opening of the Michelin-starred Glenturret Lalique restaurant, run by chef Mark Donald.
Tasting
To the eye: A deep amber colour with golden highlights, reflecting careful ageing.
On the nose: Complex aromas combining notes of dried fruit, honey, vanilla and a subtle hint of spice.
On the palate: Rich, velvety attack, with flavours of ripe fruit, dark chocolate and a slight woody note. The finish is long and warm, with lingering spicy nuances.
Food and wine pairing: Ideal with mature cheeses, dark chocolate desserts or enjoyed on its own to appreciate its complexity.
Serving temperature: 16-18°C.
