Whiskey Wild Turkey Rare Breed
Whisky
70cl- Unit
Description
Rare Breed Bourbon is regularly re-bottled in the cask strength of the day - so the characteristics of the whisky change slightly with each edition, although the basic composition remains the same. In 2018, a new batch was released with an alcohol content of 116.8 proof or 58.4% vol. Whiskies with a higher proof are most useful when you want to taste the original flavour notes intensely - even if you dilute the whiskey with ice cubes, water, citrus juices or soft drinks. The predecessors of this whiskey have already earned Rare Breed numerous silver and gold medals! For Mash Bill, the Wild Turkey team uses 75% maize, 13% rye and 12% malted barley. Maturation takes place - as with all bourbons - in new, freshly flamed white oak casks, and six, eight and twelve year old distillates are blended for this whiskey. The tasting reveals notes of vanilla, caramel, toast, spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.), mint and dry oak.

Tasting
Appearance: Deep amber color, intense with golden highlights and a slight copper hue.
Nose: Powerful and rich with creamy vanilla, warm caramel, soft spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), and a light oaky note. Subtle dried fruit and black cherry aromas add complexity.
Palate: Robust and smooth on the palate with a velvety texture. Caramel, woody spices, and toasted oak flavors are perfectly balanced with touches of ripe fruits (raisins, figs). A gentle alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, providing a pleasing balance.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with grilled meats, blue cheese, or dark chocolate and nut desserts.
Serving Temperature: Best served at room temperature, between 18°C and 20°C, or slightly on the rocks to mellow the alcohol warmth.
