Whisky Lagavulin Double Maturation

Each whisky in the Classic Malts Selection has its own unique personality. Each one is a classic that needs no changing! But even classics can evolve and develop, and that's where the key idea behind the Distillers Edition comes in, which consists of doubling the maturation time of each whisky, with a second half of the maturation in a different cask! Each year, whiskies from the Classic Malts distilleries are selected to be transferred to other casks for further maturation. These second casks are selected with particular care because their first contents - sherry or port in particular - provide aromas that perfectly complement the character of the malt.

This "finishing" is appreciated by connoisseurs for the pleasure and complexity of its aromas. The "Distillers Edition" is an exclusive, limited edition whisky for which the years of production change each year.ageing in a pedro ximénez cask complements the whisky's powerful, peaty character with the sweet accents of sun-dried grapes. On the nose, a strong note of peat, balanced by the softness of the wood that contained the pedro ximénez. On the palate, first of all a grandiose mellowness, then the taste of peat and smoke develops with a hint of seaweed. Long-lasting aromas, sappy and round, with a slight dry note.
